DeLay Withdraws From House Race

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Tom DeLay (R., Texas) once one of the most powerful Republicans on Capitol Hill, will not seek another term in Congress, Republican sources said last night.
Mr. DeLay announced earlier this year that he would not try to run for another term in the Republican leadership after he became the center of two separate investigations. It is unclear when he will step down.
A judge in Texas indicted Mr. DeLay last fall for his role in allegedly illegally routing campaign contributions into Texas during the 2002 elections. MORE....
