TX. Senator Kip Averitt Friend of Elderly
Ellis County's own state senator Kip Averitt has file SJR 13 which would help out senior property tax payers.
The introduction reads as follows: READ FULL TEXT
"Proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for a reduction of the limitation on the total amount of ad valorem taxes that may be imposed for public school purposes on the residence homesteads of the elderly or disabled to reflect any reduction in the rate of those taxes and providing that state appropriations made for the purpose of directly reducing local government taxes do not count against the constitutional state spending limit."
Senator, Thank you for keeping in mind the seniors in your district. Many in Texas who live on a fixed income have a hard enough time as it is.
